Become a Member of IECSS

Social Studies is "the integrated study of the social sciences and humanities to promote civic competence." The California Council for the Social Studies is the leading voice for History-Social Science education in California. It represents educators in all fields of the Social Studies including history, geography, economics, political science, civics, law, archaeology, sociology, psychology, philosophy, and the humanities at all educational levels from kindergarten through university.

Any teacher may participate in Inland Empire Council for the Social Studies sponsored History-Social Science meetings and attend other programs and events. If interested, teachers may sign up (email to receive the IECSS newsletter advertising opportunities and events for teachers and students of interest to social studies educators.

To be an IECSS officer or representative, membership is necessary. As an affiliate of the California Council for the Social Studies, membership in CCSS automatically confers membership in IECSS.

The advantages of Council membership are numerous:
