Join us to Honor Inland Southern California's 2015 Social Studies Educators of Excellence
Dr Suess's "Oh the Places You'll Go" is the perfect theme for the honored educators. Sparked by curiosity and a desire to both learn and teach, Social Studies Teachers of Excellence embark on interesting and wild adventures every day. In doing so, their students explore fascinating places and inspiring people across time and place. These journeys enhance student inquiry, understanding, and critical thinking while creating a pathway for future explorations. This history-geography education model leads to the development of the global competencies required for the future success of our students.

No one could be a better guide on our journey to these exciting places than Dr. Emily Schell,  the Executive Director of the California International Studies Project. A former teacher and administrator in San Diego Unified School District and History-Social Science Coordinator for the San Diego County Office of Education, she has been teaching pre-service educators at San Diego State University for twenty years. Emily worked for the National Geographic Education Foundation until recently, but remains an active leader in the California Geographic Alliance.

This celebration of social studies success in the Inland Empire is not to be missed. Acknowledge the terrific work of your colleagues by nominating one of them for recognition and enjoy a terrific evening of laughter and fun co-sponsored by Riverside County Office of Education, San Bernardino Superintendent of Schools, and the Inland Empire Council for Social Studies.

DEADLINE: November 30, 4:00 pm.  If you have not reserved by that time, email to see if there are dinners and spaces available.
