Looking for new ideas, but can't wait until the CCSS conference in March?

Join us Saturday, January 31, 2015, as K-!2 History-Social Studies educators from throughout Southern California come together for a one-day Jamboree of fun and learning. Talk with and learn from colleagues and top social studies teacher presenters in California to learn the best strategies for deeply engaging students in quality social studies content that integrates Common Core ELA State Standards.

  • Meet our featured speaker, Riverside County 2011 Teacher of the Year, Kevin Roughton, who will welcome you to "The Next Level," as he does on his fantastic website:http://www.mrroughton.com

  • Attend 3 Sessions of your choice that demonstrate H-SS content and demonstrate the following (and more!) common core strategies. Rather than just sharing theory, these sessions will show Common Core State Standards and H-SS content integrated successfully in K-12 H-SS classrooms that prepare all students for college, career, and civic life.
o   Close and discerning reading of complex text
o   DBQs
o   Project-based and cooperative learning
o   Current events in the context of history
o   Drawing upon evidence to write persuasively

This experience is a bargain at
$40 for CCSS members and $50 for non members. This fee  includes all handouts, continental breakfast, and lunch.
